About Winfree's And Winfrey's Of North Carolina
Our Winfree's Are From Hardin Frank Winfrey Of Stokedale, Stokes County, North
Carolina. Hardin Was Born In 1801. Hardin Married Catherine Durret Stanfield On
December 24, 1818 In Person County, North Carolina. They Had Four Children Two
Daughter And Two Son's. When Catherine Died Hardin Married Alcey
Eleanor "Nellie" Marshall Sometime After 1838. Being I Have No Information On
When Catherine Died I'm Going Of When Hardin II Was Born In 1838. Alcey Did
Show Up On The 1860 Census, As Well Hardin Was Listed As A Colonial Even Though
I Have Found No Evidence Of Hardin Being In Any War. It's Not Known Who Hardin
Winfrey's Father And Mother Are. I Am Including My Guess On Here For Research
Purposes. Obadiah Winfrey Was Born Sometime Between 1765 - 1774 And Was Listed
On The 1800 Census Of Surry County, North Carolina. On The 1810 Census He And
His Family Had Move To Neighboring, Stokes County, North Carolina. Obadiah
Winfrey Married A Lucinda "Lucy" In 1797 Just Four Year Before Harden Winfrey,
My 3 X Great Grandfather Was Born And Three Year Before They Move To Stokes. On
The 1810 Census There Was Listed Four Males 0 -9 Years Of Age, Hardin Would
Have Been Just Eight Years Old. On The 1820 Census There Was A Child Missing On
Obadiah's Census. I Found Hardin Winfrey Who Had Gotten Married By 1818, In
Caswell County, North Carolina Two Counties Over. I Found On The 1830 - 1840
Census Hardin Winfrey And Family Had Moved Back To Guilford County, North
Carolina. Then On The 1850 Census Hardin Was Listed Back In Stokes County. For
The 1830 - 1850 Census You Have To Know That Guilford And Stokes County Are
Right Next To Each Other. In The Southern Corner Of These Counties Are Where
They Are All Listed As Living, Obadiah, Hardin, And Hardin's Son John Stewart
Winfrey.

Dedicated To My Mom, Mona Lou "Noodie" Winfree, Jan.19, 1936 - Nov. 18, 1996
